The Ground Floor Inventor's Meetup will be suspended for December and resume on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Repeat, the Dec 19th Meetup will not be held. This is due to the crunch of the holiday season the scheduling conflicts on behalf of your organizers.
Some parallel conversations occur at the Ground Floor Entreprenuer's Meetup held on Tuesday, Dec 11th and Tuesday, Jan 8th. You could visit either or both of those.
In November we duscussed a machine for helping hang drywall in large commercial jobs and a radio with an adjustable delay to let you match the basebal announcer on the radio to the picture on the TV with the sound turned off. Also we solved many world problems.
November's gathering of the Ground Floor Inventor's Meetup of Chicago will start with a recap of my visit to Argonne National Labs, with a few friends from the Society of Automotive Engineers. We saw some cutting edge research being done in the area of alternative fuels for vehicular transportation. This included diesel fuel made from biomass (think of a compost heap), hydrogen powered engines and gasoline-electric hybrids. After that, we'll open up to hear what you're all up to. A brainstorming session will give us a chance to help each other with obstacles and setbacks. We'll keep it a little short since it's the day before Thanksgiving. See ya there! John Lund
